Right from the start I loved the way Sophie saw the positives of the space I wanted to overhaul and was keen to retain the existing features - no matter how imperfect. This was the first time I have used a designer and as the project progressed it was clear Sophie remained committed to the end result as when doing the initial design. I loved her clear vision which knew instinctively when it was important not to cut corners - but conversely when you really could take a cheaper option without compromising the end result. My favourite part of the lower ground floor of our house is now the gorgeous sun room, which has for the first time properly connected the kitchen and dining area with the garden. Now i'm working from home more I confess to retreating to the daybed most days after work to stare up at the sky through the skylight and feel my stresses immediately float away.
